AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Grateful and excited to share that I’ve passed the AWS Solutions Architect - Pro exam! 🎄☁️
What an unexpected Christmas gift - I received the email notification while on a flight, as i was checking for my results daily. Making it even more special. After 6 months of dedicated preparation, including Stephen Maarek’s excellent training course, the hard work has paid off.
I’ll be honest, I was uncertain about meeting the passing mark. The exam was incredibly challenging, with in-depth questions that really tested my knowledge. About 50% of the questions required sketching out network diagrams to have a better understanding before answering the question, often involving:
- Transit Gateway (TGW) and attachments configurations
- Route 53 DNS revolvers and VPC endpoints
- Cloudfront/Global Accelerator, API Gateway, ELB, ASG,
- Lambda/EC2/ECS/EKS
- RDS/DynamoDB
(Tip: if not sure, always pick AWS managed services. They tend to sell “koyok”. E.g. Pick Aurora DB instead of MySQL or PostgreSQL. And EC2 is always is least favorable pick for your answer. Prior is Lambda>EB>ECS>EKS>EC2)
This certification journey has been both challenging and rewarding, deepening my understanding of: • Designing scalable and reliable applications on AWS • Selecting appropriate AWS services for various requirements
Special shoutout to Stephen Maarek for his comprehensive training materials.
Looking forward to applying these skills to contribute more effectively to cloud projects and help solve complex infrastructure challenges.
Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season filled with growth and learning!
